Allen Hill Davis Jr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Allen Hill Davis Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on May 6, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Karen Davis; his parents, Allen Davis and Evelyn Davis; and his sister Kathleen Alexander. He is survived by: his daughters, Helen D. Johnson (Bill) and Susan Lazenby (John); his grandchildren, John, Kathryn Lazenby, Emma and William Johnson; and his nephews, Allen and Ronald Alexander.

“Allen and I were in the first group of Peace Corps volunteers who went to Liberia as teachers in 1962. Allen was assigned as a biology instructor at Cuttington College. I remember his stories about his work with otters. His music with the French horn and his Christian faith meant a great deal to him, It was good to see Allen at a reunion we had in Kentucky in 2008. We will be remembering Allen on our PC Liberia Zoom Nov. 22.”
