It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alice Ortwein Billingsley of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on October 3, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Malvin Ortwein and Alice Underwood; her siblings, Amy Ortwein, Hubert Ortwein (Freda), Bettye Parker (Buster), Robert Ortwein (Eleanor), William Ortwein (Ellen), James Ortwein and Mildred Ward (Lelton); and her nieces and nephews, Todd Taylor, Brigette Lowe, Jolee Grace Lowe and Patrice Miller.
She is survived by: her husband Gilbert W. Billingsley; her daughter Pamela Lawson (Robert); her granddaughters, Alicin Lawson, Anna Lawson and Tiffany Nabors; her great grandchild Jasmyne Nabors; her sisters-in-law, Aline Ortwein and Brenda Billingsley; and her nieces, Pamela and Glenda Perry Stewart.
This includes "social distancing" and wearing masks at all times while on the premises.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Alice's memory to either Hospice of Chattanooga, 4413 Oakwood Dr, Chattanooga, TN 37416 or to East Ridge Methodist Church, Young at Heart, or UMW, 1601 Prater Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37412.
