He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ellis and Anna Ellis; and his siblings, Betty Ann Huling, Martha Jane Bogle and Samuel Schild Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara M. Ellis of Chattanooga; his children, Gary Ellis (Carla) of Fairborn, OH, Jerry Ellis (Pat) of Hixson, TN, Ted Ellis (Janet) of Spring City, Tom Ellis (Suzanna) of Soddy Daisy, Keith Ellis (Charla) of Dayton and Joy Ellis (Kevin) of Chattanooga; and his sister Mary Ruth Womack (Darwin) of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
