He was predeceased by: his parents, V. T. Sr. McClelland and Verlie Duke McClelland; and his siblings, V. T. Jr., Herbert, Virginia, Mary Ann, Clara, Sarah and Linda.

He is survived by: his wife Jackie Heath McClelland; his daughters, Jeanae Bates (Johnny) of Dickson, TN and Janna McClelland Abraham of Charlotte, TN; his siblings, James McClelland of Charlotte, TN, William "Sharkey" McClelland (Jennifer) of Jackson, TN, Brenda Work (Dwight) of Dickson, TN and Rose Baird (Bob) of Charlotte, TN; his grandchildren, Erica Rahman (Michael), Heath Bates and Quint Bates; and his stepgreat-grandchild Kennedi Street. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
