He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edward "Gillie" and Hazel Cook Carver; and his siblings, Hazel Marie Carver, Minnie Sue Carver, Bessie Lou Gordon, R. E. Carver, II, Odis Carver and Lawrence Carver.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia V. Carver; his daughters, Barbara Taylor (Tony) of Charleston, Melissa Thurmond (Michael Shane) of Gold Canyon, AZ and Jodie White (Will) of Charleston; his siblings, Martha Murchison of Covington, Wanda Carver of Cordova, Anna Fultz of Drummonds, Phyllis Avato of Atoka, Lonnie Carver of Charleston and Bennie Carver of Covington; his grandchildren, Tucker Taylor (Jennifer), Whitney McPherson (John Evan), Dustin Thurmond (Tiffany), Chasity Fleming (Austin) and Seth White (Maddie); and his great grandchildren, Ava Thurmond, Easton McPherson, Nathaniel Thurmond, Waverly Taylor, Finley McPherson, Haddon James Thurmond and Amelia Thurmond.
