He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Lindsay, Thelma Brown and Grace Spray; and his close friend Grant Grogan. He is survived by: his parents, Stephen Hunter Brown of Crossville and Debbie Phelps (Kenneth) of Lewisburg; his wife Jessica Tant Brown of Chapel Hill; his children, Josie Faith Brown and Reid Hunter Brown; his siblings, Leah Cook (Michael) of Pottsville, Kate Atchison (Knowles), Alex Phelps of Lewisburg, Ken Phelps of Nashville, Robbie Baxter (Stephanie) of Mount Pleasant, Natalie Lazarowicz (Jim) of Lewisburg, Patrick Brown, Stephanie Allsup (Bruce) and Amanda; his brother-in-law Davis Musgrave of Chapel Hill; his parents-in-law, Joe Tant, Jr. (Misti) of Lewisburg and Beth Tant of Chapel Hill; and his grandparents-in-law, Margaret "Gran" Edwards of Chapel Hill and Joe D. Tant, Sr. of White Bluff. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
