He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank "Buddy" Sweeney and Ruth Scott Sweeney; and his wife Joy Wiles Sweeney. He is survived by: his son John Sweeney (Ryan); his close friend Carrie Wentzel; his brothers, Ricky Sweeney (Beth), Randy Sweeney (Sheila), Jerry Sweeney (Connie) and Bobby Sweeney (Teresa); his brother-in-law Robbie Franklin; and his nieces and nephews, Robin Beebe (Reid), Wendy Kuhn (Adam), Kelly Tate (John), Jill Sweeney, Lauren Calloway (Craig), Brittany Knight (Kendall), Megan Shultz (Coy), Amanda Robinson (Jarred), Ed Sweeney (Missy) and Ryan Sweeney (Vanessa).
