He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace L. Hillard Thompson and Samuel Ross Thompson; his son Steven Thompson; and his brothers, Jimmy Thompson and Dean Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Thompson; and his daughters, Sherrie Richard, Teresa Fisher (Troy), Pam Spears and Tammy McCormick. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
