He was predeceased by: his father Loy E. Hanes. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Mae Strecker Hanes of Topeka, KS; his wife Kathy Hanes of Chapel Hill, TN; his children, Jessica Hanes of Antioch, Jared Paul Hanes of Columbia, MO and Justin David Hanes of Columbus, OH; and his sister Kim Magee of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
