He is survived by: his parents, Edwin Tapley and Annabelle Miller Tapley; his wife Phyllis Ann Tapley; his children, Susan Byrd (Robert) of Franklin, TN, Scott Matthew Higgins (Tonja) of Olathe, KS and Sean Michael Higgins (Ronda); his grandchildren, Sheldon Higgins (Elise), Katherine Higgins, Jackson Byrd and Caroline Byrd; his great grandchildren, Samantha Higgins and Sierra Higgins; his half-sisters, Kay Curtis and Gay Sample of Benton, AR; and his niece Vickie Downing of Temecula, CA..
