She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Gertrude and John Wesley Thomas; her daughter Sandra Carter Maxwell; her siblings, Ruby Smith, Maymie Mosley, Stella Carter, Pauline Mitchell, Francis Potter, Sarah Imogene Thomas Etheridge, Frank Thomas and Harold Thomas; and her grandson Joshua Maxwell.
She is survived by: her daughter Nell Polk (Ron) of Chapel Hill, TN; her grandchildren, Jon Maxell, Hannah Rowell (B. J.), David Cole (Juna) and Stephanie Cole; and her great grandchildren, Luke Maxwell, Salli Maxwell, Aila Rowell, Aviana Rowell, Max Rowell and Liam Cole.
