He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Caldwell and Janie Margaret Chambliss Caldwell; and his brother Alvin Caldwell. He is survived by: his wife Tavye Caldwell of Chapel Hill; his children, Michelle Caldwell of Chapel Hill, Brea Laura Elizabeth Ledford (Kyle), Shannon Nichole Worrell (Terry) of Anderson, AL, Justin Boyd Caldwell (Blair) of Chapel Hill and Joseph Daniel Caldwell of Chapel Hill; his grandchildren, Lindsey Jo McCullough, Bailee Nichole Worrell, T. J. Worrell, Gage Boyd Caldwell, Aiden Boyd Caldwell and Carly Marie Caldwell; and his great grandchild Braxton William Slone.
