He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schmittou and Gladys Schmittou (Whitson). He is survived by: his wife Bernardine Smith Schmittou; his children, Lorna Schmittou Karr, Neil Schmittou (Karen), Sonia Bedell (Sandy), Tania Schmittou Trevett, Gloria Ebarb (JJ) and Craig Schmittou (Shannon); and his sister Carolyn Nixon. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Schmittou.
