He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Chetham Shelton and Mable Eunice VonSchmittou Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Morrell Baggett Shelton; his sons, Chad Shelton (Eva) and Craig Shelton (Misty); his grandchildren, Colby Shelton, Carter Shelton (Kaitlyn), Mallory Shelton and Harper Shelton; and his brother Steve Shelton (Carole).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlie's name to Centerville Church of Christ, where a welcome center will be established in his memory.
