He was predeceased by: his father Robert Johnson; his son Vernon Ray Johnson Jr.; and his siblings, Ernestine Johnson and Jimmy Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Celean Davidson Johnson; his daughters, Karen Edwards and Celeste Hunter (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Toni Graves, Kristie Farrell, Cory Hunter and Christopher Hunter; his great grandchildren, Joshua Graves Jr., Nicholas Graves, Owen Hunter, Brittney McKin, Cody Farrell and Zachery Farrell; and his brothers, Harold Johnson (Jean) and Tony Johnson.
