He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Bertha Lue Wilson Jones; his son William David Jones; his grandchildren, Justin Hensley and Beverly Murphy; and his siblings, Robert Lee Jones Jr., Franklin D. Jones, Sarah L. Jones, Myrtle Kearney and Ruth Gregory.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Jones (Georgette), Terry Jones (Babs), Theresa Murphy (Larry), Denise Jones and Billie Jo Grant. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
