He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Melvin and Loretta Melvin; his son James Andrew Melvin; and his brothers, Robert Melvin and Ronald Melvin.
He is survived by: his wife Belinda Melvin of Cedar Grove, Tennessee; his son Justin Melvin (Jill) of Crawfordville, Florida; his sisters, Linda Roberts of Spencer, Karen Bedard of Holden and Laurie; his grandchildren, Aiden June, Vanessa June and Caleb Lewis; and his close friend Nelson Walls of Cedar Grove.
