He was predeceased by: his father James Gilbert Lanier; his grandson Jonathan Spencer; and his sister Kimberly Dawn Lanier. He is survived by: his wife Diane Suggs Lanier of Castalian Springs; his mother Barbara Morris Hoyt (Harley R.) of Panama City, FL; his daughters, Talena Spencer (Michael) of Gallatin, Candace Dunbar of Gallatin and Angela DeRossett (Adam) of Hendersonville; his sisters, Debbie Carroll (Greg) of Panama City, FL and Kelley Blythe Jensen of Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Caitlin McLaughlin (Cameron), Amanda Spencer, Brooke Spencer, Emma Spencer, Eden Spencer, Jaden Dunbar, Ella DeRossett and Dace DeRossett; and his great grandchildren, Delilah McLaughlin, Jaxon McLaughlin, Stella McLaughlin and Kayden McLaughlin.
