He was predeceased by : his parents, James Franklin and Alice Gant Shrum; and his siblings, Susie Elrod and William Shrum. He is survived by : his wife Gail Shrum; his children, Scott Shrum and Elizabeth Shrum; his stepchildren, Corey Mahaney, Lesley Williams-Monterey (Brian) and Lindsey Mahaney (Tommy Chaudoin); his grandchildren, Zach Fergusson, Jasmine Fergusson, Carter Williams, Maizie Mahaney and Cooper Williams; his brothers, James Shrum, Oscar Shrum- of Arkansas, Billy Joe Shrum-Bethpage and Ernie Shrum-Gallatin; and his pet Angus.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home (337 E McMurry Blvd, Hartsville, TN 37074). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Hartsville Memorial Gardens Memorial (Memorial Loop, Hartsville, TN 37074).
