He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Vowell; his children, Tammy, Billy Simpson, Jerry Vowell, Deana, Daniel Vowell and Amanda; his siblings, Jimmy Vowell (Janice), Mary Cox (J. C.) and Sarah Carroll; his grandchildren, Joshua (Brandi), Jeremiah, Cody (Katrina), Christopher (Kayla), Andrew, Bryson, Victoria (William), Betheny and LLyssa; his great grandchildren, Ace, Walker, Luke, Willow and Layla; and his pet Scooby. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
