He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Edward Sr. and Peggy Louise Slover Nelson; his grandparents, Rev. Bill and Wilma Slover; and his great-uncle Millard "Ham" Slover.

He is survived by: his wife Tammy; his brother Robbie Nelson (Beverly); his nephew Aden Nelson; and his stepdaughter Tracy Pesterfield.
