He was predeceased by: his father Mike Lawson; his wife Wilma; and his siblings, Mickey, Bill Lawson and Marie Goins.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Lawson (Nicole) of LaFollette and Sonia Lindsay (Tim) of LaFollette; and his brother Lloyd Lawson (Mitzi) of Caryville. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
