He was predeceased by: his parents, James Oliver and Bessie Lindsay Evans; and his siblings, Peggy Sweeney, J. H. Kyle Evans and Audrey Evans.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Brantley Evans; his children, Linda Heatherly (Lee) and Joe Evans; his granddaughters, Leslie Wilson (Kevin) and Lindsay VanBebber (Joe); his great grandchildren, Hunter Wilson, Lauren VanBebber, Rebecca VanBebber and Bailey Wilson; and his siblings, Geneva Claiborne (Bob), George Eugene Evans, Joyce Jones (Donald), Lucille Smallwood (Robert), Texie Winkle (Bob), LouAnn Jones (Charles), Charles Evans (Chase), Sherry Cannon (Allan), Carolyn Wilson (Larry) and Benny Evans (Rita). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
