With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Geneva Newport of Caryville, Tennessee, who passed away on March 18, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Elden Newport; her parents, Rev. Dan Daugherty and Mary Daugherty; her siblings, Margaret Leslie (Lilybee), Paul Daugherty and Sam; and her siblings-in-law, Margaret Daugherty, Paul Lynch and Kathleen Daugherty.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Newport of Caryville, TN, Johnny Newport (Julia) of Houston, TX, Tim Newport (Jessica) of Powell, TN, Julie Hatmaker (Ronnie) of LaFollette, TN and Helen Woodward (David) of Tullahoma, TN; her grandchildren, Sarah, Mac, Emily, Hampton, Nathan, Danielle, Graham, Noah, Caleb and Ivy; her siblings, John Daugherty, James Daugherty (Evadean), Nancy Lynch and Magdalene Daugherty; and her sisters-in-law, Edith Gray and Judy Engel. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
