He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton Thomas and Nellie Lay (Davis); and his siblings, James Odus Lay, Maude Lay Jackson, Gladys Evans, Mildred Phillips, Edna Daugherty and Mary Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ann Lay; and his stepchildren, Jimmy Epperson of Caryville, Roger Epperson of Atlanta, GA., Jeff Epperson (Jenny) of Lenoir City and Sandra Lawson (Larry) of Caryville.
