He was predeceased by: his siblings, Stevie Nighbert, Trula Barnes (Judd) and Eva Mae Hayes (Robert "Bob"); his brother-in-law Tommy Coward; and his close friends, Gary Hawkins, Arnold Disney, Everett Davison and Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Rose Nighbert; his children, David Nighbert (Vanessa) of Caryville, Karen Austin (Barry) of Andersonville and Jackie White (Freddie) of Caryville; his grandchildren, Aaron Nighbert (Amanda) of Caryville, Myranda Bertrand (Matthew) of Arkansas, Adam Austin (Alexis Andrews) of Knoxville, Chanler Cox (Jordon Smith) of Knoxville, Willow White of Caryville and Slade White of Caryville; his great grandchildren, Noah Nighbert of Caryville and Lydia of Arkansas; his grandchildren, Desaray Roberts, Judah Barnes, Olivia Noonan, Jenna Seibers and Shelby Spradlin; and his friends, Huck Braden of Rocky Top, Larry Tibbs of Caryville and Diane Anderson of Maynardville.
