He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson Smithers and Rachel Boshears Smithers; his parents-in-law, Bill and Martha Richardson; his siblings, Thomas Hugh Smithers and Barbara Faye Glover; and his sister-in-law Judy Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Fay Richardson Smithers; his daughter Patricia Wilson (Danny); his grandchildren, Eric Wilson and Kristy Wilson; his great grandchildren, Emberson Wilson and Timberlynn Wilson; his siblings, Donald Smithers, Betty Day, Emma Laxton, Margaret Williams, Mary Lowe and Sherry Halcomb; and his siblings-in-law, William Richardson, Larry Richardson, Dennis Richardson, Anita Mason and Wilma Ward. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
