He was predeceased by: his parents, Ather Avery Maynard and Lillie Mae Clemons; and his brother James "Jim" Avery Maynard. He is survived by: his son Terry Brandon Maynard of Carthage, Tennessee; his siblings, Rosie Maynard of Cookeville, Betty Jo Taylor of Silver Point, Tennessee and Don Maynard (Cindy) of Denver, Indiana; and his friend Tammy Hancock. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
