He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Adron Allen Bennett and Bessie Mai Pettross Bennett; his son Matt Spurlock; his daughter-in-law Heather Turnbull Spurlock; his grandchildren, Case Sullivan and J. Spurlock; and his caregivers, Catlin Gibson and Rebecca Raines.

The Spurlock family has requested memorials be made in Mr. Bennett's memory to his beloved Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
