He was predeceased by: his father Mathew McDonald Reece; his grandmother Belle Franklin Reece; and his sister Mildred Ruth Reece Lawson. He is survived by: his brothers, Donald Lee Reece Sr. and Harvie Lawson Jr. (Evelyn Crawford Lawson) of Carthage; and his nieces and nephews, Stacy Lawson (Tanna), Donnie Lawson (Alva), Donald Lee Reece Jr. (Sabrina) of Gordonsville, Kathy Lawson Marks (Joey) of Carthage, Crystal Reece Dennis (Ricky) of Gordonsville and Marian Reece James (Ray). He is also survived by sixteen great nieces and nephews and 25 great-great-nieces and nephews.

The Reece family requests memorials to the Smith County Fine Arts Center/Theatre.
