She was predeceased by: her father James "Smokey" Sanders; and her siblings, Robert Proffitt, Ardelia Proffitt and Marie Proffitt Hensley. She is survived by: her sister-in-law Martha Sanders. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
At Mrs. Smith's request and because of her daughter's blindness, the request was made for memorials to be made to the Lions Club Sight Service.
