He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Whitt and Laura Whitt (Perry); his brother Wendell Whitt; and his granddaughter Emily Gray. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Lynn Whitt (Dowdy); his children, Debbie Combs and Joe Wayne Miller; his stepchildren, James Garrett, Tammy Pirie and Tonya Garrett; his fiancé Kyle Phillips; his siblings, Jean Pieratt, Pam Whitt, Eddie Whitt and Emory Whitt; his grandchildren, Jessie Combs and Travis Combs; and his stepgrandchildren, James Andrew Garrett, Jacob Garrett, Justin Garrett, Blake Pattengale and Brooke Pirie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
