He was predeceased by: his parents, William Peter Benedict and Ruth Helen Terhume; his former wife Margaret Rogers Benedict; and his sister Mary Lou Turnbull. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Harbin Benedict; his sister Barbara Roman; his children, Mark Benedict, Meghan Anderson (Sean), Patricia Jurek, Sharlaine Johnsa (Berry), Wanda Beste (Chris) and Benjamin Harbin (Olivia); his grandchildren, Cammie Mansfield (Greer), Eloise Brauer (Bjorn), Linus Evans (Britany), Abriel Jurek, Lilliana Rahm, Sophia Jurek, Benny Harbin and Tillie Harbin; and his great grandchildren, Lennart Brauer, Jonathan Mansfield and Moritz Brauer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
