He was predeceased by: his mother Vice Griffith; his aunt Lizzy Griffith; and his grandfather Elmer Griffith. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Faye Griffith (Whitehead); his daughter Scherry Griffith; his grandsons, Howard VanZant (Faith) and Jessie VanZant; his sister Rita Lilley Wright; and his sister-in-law Sandy Whitehead. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
