He was predeceased by: his parents, Estill Bates and Imagene Bates. He is survived by: his wife Linda Bates; his sons, Nicholas Bates (Casey) and Jonathan Bates (Katie); his grandchildren, Ian Bates, Autumn Bates, Azariah Bates, Kaylee Bates and Mason Finn; and his siblings, Hurl Bates, Anna Clemons-Price, Betty Fallen and Stella Bates.
