He was predeceased by : his parents, Prentice Edwin Underwood and Anna Merle McSwain Underwood. He is survived by : his wife Beverly Holley Underwood; his son Pat Anderson Underwood of Paris; his grandson Jamison Beal Underwood; his brothers, Dale Underwood (Marcia) of Camden and Steve Underwood of Puryear; and his nieces and nephews, Melanie, Bert and Amy. He is also survived by his family and most especially his wife, son and grandson.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the McEvoy Funeral Home, Inc. (507 W Washington St, Paris, TN 38242). A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 9th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 1385 Friendship Road, Buchanan, TN 38222 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
