He was predeceased by: his father Joe Bennett; his uncle Larry Bennett; and his grandparents, Opal Bennett, Cecil Bennett and Irene Measle.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Thorne Bennett; his children, John Nathanile Bennett (Kourtney), Jeremy Scott Bennett and Jordan Thomas Bennett; his stepdaughter Marcy Pickler; his stepgrandchildren, Kailan Hodge and Onna Hodge; his mother Marie Measle Bennett; and his siblings, Sallie Turner (Neil), Thelma Joe Mofield (Ricky), Lewis Bennett, Brenda Heston (Ray) and Bennie Spurlock (Ruby). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
