He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Gaters, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Sue Pauline Groves Gaters of Brownsville, TN; his wife Sherri Outlaw Gaters; his son Hunter Gaters (Felicity) of Bells, TN; his brothers, Danny Gaters (Janet) of Brownsville, TN and Walter Gaters of Mercer, TN.; his nephews, Taylor Outlaw, Bradley Gaters, Russell Gaters and Justin Gaters; and his niece Stacey Gaters.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brownsville Funeral Home (107 S Lafayette Ave, Brownsville, TN 38012). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

The family has requested memorials be made to the charity of the Donor's choice.
