He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Everett Barker and Jean Hindman Roberts. He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Barker Buie and James Barker of Brownsville, TN; his stepfather William Roberts, Jr.; his nieces, Katlin Buie, Elizabeth Lovelace and Debra Barker Byrd; his nephew James Barker, Jr. (Courtney); and his great-nieces, Raegan Baggett, Millie Lovelace and Mary-Neil Lovelace.
