He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Witherspoon and Mary Witherspoon. He is survived by: his wife Mary Witherspoon of Brownsville, TN; his sister Sue Ann Galey (George) of Germantown, TN; and his siblings-in-law, Jesse Jacocks (Melanie), Susan Miller (Jim), Jean Wills and Anne Bridgewater.

The family has requested memorials be made to Holtinternational.org or to the Brownsville Baptist Church, 5 N. Wilson Ave., Brownsville, TN 38012.
