He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Fray Russell and Frances Sanders Russell; and his sister Opal Oliver. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Russell (Andrea) of Bells, TN, Jessica McRae (Kinney) of Brownsville, TN, Lauren Moore (Thomas) of Denmark, TN and Lindsey Petty (Michael) of Mercer, TN.; his sisters, Mary Perry (Billy) of Brownsville, TN and Doris Ann Herron (Ronnie) of Paducah, KY; and his grandchildren, Tyler Russell (Brandi), J. T. Russell, Russ Joyner, Baker Joyner, Archer Joyner, Hailea Moore, Austin Moore, Avery Petty, Declan Pence, George McRae (Ryan) and Tillman McRae (Kalyn). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home (1280 S Dupree St, Brownsville, TN 38012). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Zion Methodist Church Cemetery (1732 Rudolph Rd, Brownsville, TN 38012).
The family has requested that memorials be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Sherri Yanakopulos, 341 Baynes Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012.
