He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Varney and Buna Atwood Varney; and his brother Jimmy Joynes. He is survived by: his sister Joy Galindo of Chicago, IL; his sister-in-law Mildred Joynes of Brownsville, TN; and his nieces and nephews, Jason Joynes, Brian Galindo, Tina Crabb, Debra Young, Tiffany Galindo and Krystal Harps.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Poplar Corner Baptist Church, 1010 Boyd Ave., Brownsville, TN 38012.
