He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrud Reed; his daughter Christine Howell (Danny); his parents, Glenn Reed and Elizabeth Reed; and his siblings, Hector Abraham, Russell, Donald, Grover, James (Jim), Paul, Eunice, Elva, Esther and Clara Elizabeth (Betty).

He is survived by: his sons, David Reed of Norwich, CT and Patrick Reed (Robin) of Albany, NY; his grandchildren, Michael Robertson (Corrie) of Milan, TN, Jessica Hanrahan (Frank) of Norwich, CT, John Reed (Ashley) of Glens Falls, NY, Emily Reed of Portland, CT and Ben Reed of Norwich, CT; his great grandchildren, Ian, Eileen and Maeve Hanrahan; and his close friends, Brownsville Bearing, Bound Brook Bearing Co and PressMET of England. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
