It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Mae Shaw Hurt in Brownsville, Tennessee, who passed away on July 6, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Hector and Willie Lou Bond Shaw; her husband Levy Hurt, Jr.; her sons, Ricky and Dennis Hurt; and her siblings, Forest, Willie Mack Shaw and Marjorie Nicholson.

She is survived by: her sons, Gregory Hurt (Vontinece) of Houston, TX, Randy Hurt (Lisa) of Jackson, TN, Thomas Hurt (Amanda) of Brownsville, TN and Keith Hurt (Shawanda) of Brownsville, TN; her sisters, Lillian Gray of Detroit, MI and Natha Lee Wilks of Lake Cormorant, MS; and her sisters-in-law, Willette Hurt of Colombus, OH, Annie Jean Shaw of Brownsville and Ora Sue Shaw of Brownsville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
