She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Jim" Lovelace and Ruby Fowler Lovelace; her husband John T. Carlton, Sr.; and her siblings, Otha, James, Ovid, Hobert, Guy and Blanche.

She is survived by: her children, John Carlton, Jr. (Judy) and Betsy Davidson (Jim); her grandchildren, Thomas Carlton (Kristin) and Jessica "Jessie" Warren (John Harvey); and her great grandchildren, Elora Kate of Brownsville, Saydie Mae of Brownsville, Ellie Brooks of Brownsville, Duke Tyus of Brownsville, Margaret Steele of Brownsville and Helen Marie of Brownsville. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.
