He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy Kirk and Marvin Kirk; and his sisters, Mary Frazier, Billie Kennedy and Joan Holden.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian; his son Phillip (Penny); his grandson Taylor Burchum; and his sisters, Freddie Brown and Marlene Sartain. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
