He was predeceased by: his parents, Filberto Arizmendi and Soledad Melchor Arizmendi; and his siblings, Carlos Arizmendi, Filberto Arizmendi II, Ana Maria Lozano, Martha Guadalupe Arizmendi and Teresa of Jesus Cortinas.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Zavala Arizmendi; his children, Patricia Michelle Lyles, Jose Jaime Arizmendi II (Calli Carpenter) and Marc Steven Arizmendi (Kristi Williams); his grandsons, Marc Alexander Arizmendi and Carson Carpenter; and his sisters, Carmen Solis, Evelia Valdez, Maria Enriqueta Arizmendi, Gilma Yolanda Gomez and Maria Magdalena Arizmendi.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home (1280 S Dupree St, Brownsville, TN 38012). A rosary was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (1665 US-45 BYP, Jackson, TN 38305). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (693 Wildersville Rd, Parkers Crossroads, TN 38388).
