He was predeceased by: his son James Sumner Sharpe; his parents, Ben Sharpe and Louise Sharpe; and his brother Dr. Ben W. Sharpe (Martha). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn True Sharpe; his children, John Freemont Sharpe Jr. (Mary Ann) and Mary Lewis Tims of Brownsville, TN; his grandchildren, James Andrew Tims (Melissa), Samuel Davis Tims (Ellis), Mary Randall Locke (Bryson), Matthew Tims, Mary Claiborne Sharpe and Sadie Sharpe; and his sister Dr. Susan Sharpe.
