He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Elrod and Ruby Byrd Elrod; and his siblings, Wilson Elrod, Billy Elrod, Ann Wyatt, Virginia Austin and Katherine Elrod.
He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Scott Elrod of Brownsville, TN and Tammie Elrod Staggs (Bruce) of Whiteville, TN; and his siblings, Donald Elrod (Bessie) of Savannah, TN, Carolyn Vatter of Colorado, Bettye Kelly of Brownsville, TN and Brenda Gatlin of Whiteville, TN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Trust Fund, c/o Danny Watson, 1234 Hillville Loop, Whiteville, TN 38075.
