He was predeceased by: his mother Bonnie Jean Poindexter Harwell. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Harwell; his daughter Ashley Harwell Richardson (Brad); his father Wiley Elmer Harwell; his brothers, Wiley Joe Harwell and Mark Anthony Harwell (Sylvia); and his grandson Joseph Waylon Richardson of Brownsville, TN.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
